Koch Elementary Mandatory Uniform Policy 2018-2019


TOPS- ALL grades- White, Navy, Powder Blue, or Black, long/short sleeve collared polo shirts, turtlenecks, or oxfords. Shirts must be tucked in and undershirts may be worn under uniform shirt and must be solid white or same color as uniform shirt.

BOTTOMS - ALL grades - Navy Blue, Khaki, or BlackNO JEANS

Girls:    Slacks, shorts, skirts, jumpers (no plaid, stripes, wording, designs or pictures)

Skirts or shorts may not be shorter than 3” above the knee and no longer than mid-calf. Skirts with full length zippers or multi-zippers are not acceptable

Boys:   Slacks, shorts (no plaid, stripes, wording, designs or pictures)

slacks or shorts should be fitted and hemmed and are to be worn no larger than one waist size and must be worn at the waist. No sagging


(Solid) Navy Blue, Black, or White - pullover sweater, button-down cardigan, V-neck sweater /sweater vest, or sweatshirt with NO HOODS OR WRITING. A uniform shirt must be under the sweater options.


Minimal and non-excessive jewelry. No large dangling earrings, bracelets, necklaces, or medallion type necklaces. Lost or stolen jewelry is not the responsibility of the school district.

Staff has right to ask child to remove for safety reasons.


Tennis shoes, loafers, and/or boots should be worn in the building. All shoes should be closed-toe and tied up if they have laces. NO FLIP FLOPS, sandals, crocs, high heels, jellies, ballet or shoes with wheels


Must be worn in belt loops on pants/skirts/shorts: no spikes


Oversized clothing including (pants, shirts, skirts, shorts, and shoes) Jeans or denim pants, stretch pants, leggings, spandex, biker shorts, stirrup pants, collarless or sleeveless shirts, tank tops, or bare midriff, bandanas, scarves, wave caps, hats, berets, hooded sweatshirts or sweaters, or any shirts/sweatshirts/sweaters with inappropriate writing or symbols.    


Parents are encouraged to label all clothing worn to school (coats, sweaters, hats, gloves, etc.)



1st Offense      Teacher Phone Call and documentation

2nd Offense    Teacher Phone Call, Letter Home, Documentation, and Referral to the Little Bit Foundation

                        3rd Offense     Counselor Phone Call and Referral to School Social Worker

4th Offense     Administrative Phone Call /Parent Family Support Meeting


**Special non-uniform days will be scheduled throughout the year for special events (Picture Day) and rewards for group accomplishments (classroom with perfect attendance, attendance at PTO events, Koch Spirit Days, etc.) You will be informed in advance regarding the specifics of those days.
