First Grade

I attended the University of Missouri- St. Louis where I earned my Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education.  I graduated with Magna Cum Laude honors.  This degree allows me to teach Birth to 3rd grade.

I continued my education by attaining my Masters of Education degree at  Maryville University in St. Louis.

I still to this day continue learning by attending professional development and workshops to learn new teaching techniques in this ever changing world of education.

I started working with children when I was 18 years old.  I worked for the University Child Development Center at the University of Missouri St. Louis for 6 years.  I began teaching at Koch Elementary in 1994.  This will be my 22nd year in Riverview Gardens School District and all of them have been at wonderful world of Koch Elementary. My teaching experience has involved teaching Kindergarten and First Grade all of these years.   I am proud to be a teacher a Koch and it's a great day to be a Koch Cougar.

My favorite past time is reading.  I LOVE to read!  I also love to garden and usually grow many vegetables every summer.  In between those activities is my greatest joy, my 4 children.  I am very busy with 3 girls and 1 boy.  They are 20, 17, 15 and 8 years old. It is a very exciting time in our household with everyone in school and one in college. We love to travel every summer We go places like Disney World, Virginia Beach, Kentucky and South Dakota to see Mount Rushmore.

Teaching is something I have wanted to do since I was in Kindergarten.  I love to see children succeed and the look of happiness on their face when they learn something new.  Teaching is what I do second best to being a mom.
